2010 TRYOUT INFORMATION 




Qualifying Requirements

The following requirements are a guideline for the coaches to select new skippers.  Performance team members will be selected based on number of requirements fulfilled compared to other jumpers.  It will still be possible to make the competition team without fulfilling all the requirements and will be the discretion of the coaches.

A.  Able to perform 
Single Rope Compulsory as follows:

Jump, Cross, Double Bounce

Left 360 Texas Style

Straddle, Jump, Left Twister

Double bounce slide forward, Jump, Catch

B.  Able to perform 
Double Dutch Compulsory routine, enter and exit clean.
C. Any other Double Dutch or Single Rope skills should be shown at the tryouts.
D.  Able to jump speed as follows (counting right foot jogging step only)

E.  Able to do 
consecutive double unders as follows:
          
1. 2nd grade            15
          2. 3rd & 4th              20
          3. 5th grade             40
          4. 6th & up               60

F.  
Any gymnastics a skipper knows should be demonstrated during tryouts.

Once qualified for the team the skipper will be expected to attend all team practices and continually improve their skills.  Coaches may require re-qualification from any jumper who does not meet these standards.

Superskipper Tryout Dates & Information

Tryouts will be held on the Sunday, August 22, 2010.
Tryouts will be held in Gym 2 at the YMCA from 4:00 – 6:00pm.
There will be a help day August 15, 2010 in Gym 2 of the Y 
from  4:00 – 6:00pm.


The Superskippers have two levels of participation; a performance team and a competition team.  
    
    
Performance Team:  Practice nights may be Monday, Tuesday or Thursday but attendance is optional.  Able to participate in shows, clubs and camps after completing Red level in our achievement program.  Also able to compete in single events based on age group availability and coaches recommendation.  

    
Competition Team:  Practices Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.  Additional practice on Sunday from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.  Able to participate in shows, clubs and camps after completing Red level in our achievement program.  Able to compete in singles, pairs and double dutch events based on age group availability and coaches discretion.
